About Kellie

Kellie Summers is a horse riding instructor and pleasure horse trainer based in Bridgewater in the Adelaide Hills. Her passions lie in creating communicative partnerships between horse and rider through groundwork, ridden work and rider instruction.

Kellie’s chosen equestrian discipline is Hunting with the Strathalbyn Hunt Club, a social sport of galloping and jumping fences without the traditional hounds or foxes. Kellie isn’t focused on competing and winning ribbons, but instead believes that we should all strive to be better riders for the benefit our horses.

Her caring, compassionate nature, enthusiastic and confident teaching style leave her riders feeling positive and encouraged.

What I do

There are so many people who are not enjoying their horses to their full potential, whatever that may be, whether under saddle or on the ground. Little niggles, manner issues or quirks you just can’t get sorted. You may have trouble floating your horse. Other horse owners may not be feeling confident or would like to brush up on their skills. I’m here to help!

For those who wish to ride or learn but don’t have their own horse or would prefer to learn on a more experienced one, I have riding school horses available for riders age 9 and above.

Lessons

Lessons with Kellie can cover a wide range of topics. Whatever you want to learn she is happy to teach you! Her students range from kids to adults who enjoy pleasure riding through to hunting and more.

Training

Kellie aims to create partnerships between horse and rider and is looking for kind and gentle riders and handlers to start their horse journey with her.

Consultations

Consultations are a great option when you’ve got problems to solve or have purchased a new horse and want to get yourself started on the right track. I can  take the guess work away so you can enjoy your horse time!

Float Training

Let me help you gain a really thorough understanding of floating by showing you the best ways you can help your horse to feel more comfortable. After all, outings should be fun for both you and your horse.

I know for a fact that I could never be where I am now without the help of Kellie. She has been there for the whole journey. It hasn’t been the easiest thing I’ve ever done but it sure is worth it.
